USS Fletcher (DD-445) was the lead ship of her namesake class of destroyers, of which 175 were built during WWII, and she went on to a long and distinguished service career. Her balanced form as well as details such as her 5-inch DP gun turrets, quintuple torpedo launchers, twin 20mm anti-aircraft guns, and depth charge launchers have been accurately reproduced in this stunning model kit. The gun barrels, gun turrets, and torpedo launchers are all movable to enable dynamic posing. A display stand with name plate is also included.

L'USS Fletcher (DD/DDE-445), nommé d'après l'amiral Frank Friday Fletcher, était le premier destroyer de la classe Fletcher et a servi dans le Pacifique pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il a reçu quinze étoiles de combat (battle stars) pour son service pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et cinq pour son service pendant la guerre de Corée.
Le Fletcher a été construit par la Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company à Kearny dans le New Jersey, le 2 octobre 1941. Il a été lancé le 3 mai 1942, parrainé par Mme F. F. Fletcher, veuve de l'Amiral Fletcher, et mis en service le 30 juin 1942.

The USS Fletcher (DD/DDE-445), named after Admiral Frank Friday Fletcher, was the first destroyer of the Fletcher class and served in the Pacific during World War II. She was awarded fifteen battle stars for her service during World War II and five for her service during the Korean War.
The Fletcher was built by the Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Kearny, New Jersey, on October 2, 1941. She was launched on May 3, 1942, sponsored by Mrs. F. F. Fletcher, widow of Admiral Fletcher, and commissioned on June 30, 1942.
