It was in 1903 that Adolphe Clément, founder of the Clément-
Bayard auto find in association with Darracq, started an English
subsidiary-Clément-Talbot, Ltd. in conjunction with the Earl of
Shrewsbury and Talbot. After having sold cars under the Talbot name, Clément-Talbot was bought by the Darracq Company in 1919. In the following year, 1920, Sunbeam joined the other two firms and gave birth to the British company STD (Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq).

C’est en 1903 qu’Adolphe Clément, fondateur de la société automobile Clément-Bayard, en association avec Darracq, créa une filiale anglaise, Clément-Talbot, Ltd., en partenariat avec le comte de Shrewsbury et Talbot.

Après avoir commercialisé des voitures sous la marque Talbot, Clément-Talbot fut rachetée par la société Darracq en 1919. L’année suivante, en 1920, Sunbeam rejoignit les deux autres entreprises, donnant naissance à la société britannique STD (Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq).
