Le Handley Page HP.52 Hampden était un bombardier moyen bimoteur de la Royal Air Force en service pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il a participé avec les Whitley et les Wellington au début des bombardements stratégiques au-dessus de l'Europe, en prenant notamment part au premier raid nocturne sur Berlin et au premier raid de plus de 1000 bombardiers lancé sur Cologne. Bien qu'il soit le plus récent des trois bombardiers moyens, le Hampden n'est guère adapté à la guerre moderne entraînant son retrait du Bomber Command vers la fin de 1942.

The Handley Page HP.52 Hampden was a twin-engine medium bomber of the Royal Air Force in service during the Second World War. It participated alongside the Whitley and Wellington in the early strategic bombing raids over Europe, notably taking part in the first night raid on Berlin and the first raid of over 1,000 bombers launched against Cologne. Although the newest of the three medium bombers, the Hampden was ill-suited to modern warfare, leading to its withdrawal from Bomber Command towards the end of 1942.
