The Bedford OX is a truck built by Bedford for the British armed forces, based on the civilian O-series with a modified front end and single rear wheels. It entered service in 1939. The payload was 30 cwt, approximately 1.5 tons. Several variants existed. The OXD was a general transport vehicle, while the OXA was an armored version and the OXC a prime mover. These vehicles were widely used during World War II and were employed by the Soviets under the Lend-Lease agreement. Some also fell into the hands of the Wehrmacht and continued to be used as captured vehicles.
