Le T-34 est un char de combat moyen soviétique entré en service en 1940 au sein de l'Armée rouge.

Descendant des chars rapides « BT », il constitua un remarquable équilibre entre les trois composantes fondamentales qui caractérisent la qualité d'un blindé : la puissance de feu, la protection et la mobilité. Il joua un rôle essentiel sur le Front de l'Est au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ce qui fait du char T-34 l'un des symboles de la victoire contre le nazisme. Char légendaire, le T-34 est considéré pour beaucoup comme le meilleur blindé des forces alliées et l'un des meilleurs chars de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Certains généraux allemands, dont Ewald von Kleist et Heinz Guderian (spécialiste de la Blitzkrieg), reconnaissaient la supériorité du T-34 face aux panzers. Le premier disait que le T-34 était « le meilleur char du monde».
