Le Bedford QL de 3 tonnes était l'un des camions britanniques les plus populaires pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le prototype fut testé sur route en février 1940. La production d'une version de transport léger standard débuta ensuite. Outre la version de transport de base QLD, les Bedford QL servaient également de tracteurs légers pour canons antiaériens, de transporteurs d'infanterie (QLT), de bennes basculantes (QLW), de tracteurs pour semi-remorques de 6 tonnes (QLC), entre autres. Au total, 52 145 véhicules furent produits entre 1941 et 1945.

3 ton Bedford QL was one of the most popular british trucks during the years of WWII. The Prototype started road tests in February 1940. Afterwards the production of a typical light transport version started. Apart from the basic transport version QLD, Bedfords QL also served as a light tractors for anti-aircraft cannons, infantry transporters – QLT, tip-carts – QLW, 6 tons semitrailers tractors – QLC and others. All together 52145 cars in the years 1941-1945.
